My office view

On GiGi, my day began at 6:45am and didn’t stop until my boss’ fun was complete. Sometimes that meant a 7 hour day sometimes it meant 14-15 hour days. Being the only crew member, I was responsible for everything. And, he considered a “day off” after completing my morning chores of 6 hours. Now I am #3 of the deck team on a boat twice the size. My day begins at 9am on deck. At 12:30 I get a one hour lunch break, then, I’m on deck for 1 more hour.

At 2:30pm I take my daily shower and wash off the morning work sweat. Now I transition to interior where I assist the chef in her chef/stew duties. I serve wine to, two gracious kind owners, do a little vacuuming and turn down their bed. Eat a fabulous dinner made by the chef, take out the trash and I’m done by 7pm. Because I start late, I do have to cover the outdoor furniture at 10pm and turn off lights. If the chef doesn’t cook, the owner buys all of our dinners out. I have an afternoon off with the following whole day off as well, every week.

We leave for the Bahamas in a few weeks. Just the crew take the yacht over, then the owners fly over and stay for a week, then fly out. This means I will have approximately 4 days to enjoy the Bahamas with minimal work during the day. My friends that I met in Sag Harbor will be there with their owners at the same time! So excited to see them.

The chef and I hit it off and enjoy day drinking. We have lots of plans when the owners leave for the summer and our work day is minimal.
