I left Ft. Lauderdale around 9am. Arrived at my first stop about 3.5 hours away Boca Grande. Beautiful water, small town, home feel…but only one beach bar. I’m ok with that, I just need a job to learn. And a place to stay while I do it.
It was perfect (other than how busy it was). Never got a chance to talk to the bartenders. But I was able to speak with the guy next to me. His information contribution was: this is the only beach bar in this town, it closes in June until next winter. Everyone that lives here leaves for summer then Returns for winter. The cheapest house is around 1 million for a 700sq ft studio. 6-10 million is average. So the people who work here don’t live here.
He recommended a town about 30 minutes north. Englewood. He says they have several “beach bars”. So I headed there. Couldn’t find any bars on the beach so I just stopped at one that looked fun.

This bar had the nicest people. It was packed as well…with live music. The person I met there said the vibe I’m looking for, is actually the place I originally had on my radar. Anna Marie island. So tomorrow I’ll head up that way. Hopefully I’ll find the perfect learning bar, and a place to call home for more than a week!
Looks like you had a fun day. Can’t wait to hear about tomorrow’s day😁💓
