It takes a village

On this journey, I have had so much support, concern and advice that has made things so much easier. For instance…my flight dilemma, when I was forced to book a flight, a reader messaged me and said “simply cancel the unwanted flight…24 hours no cancellation fee.. I didn’t even think about that! Cancelled it no problem, no fee.

Most exciting part of the day. I walk around and familiarize myself with the resort. I’ll enjoy the weekend and gather information about the town. I sit down at a restaurant by the marina, where I feel at home. I hear a familiar voice behind me. Turn around and it’s Steve! The engineer on yacht Queen D, from Sag Harbor!

Yachting is such a small world. We got caught up on the happenings,, he’s no longer on Queen D and is headed back to Florida tomorrow to be with his family. He had good tips on local places to see.

I also met a couple on the plane who corrected me when I said I didn’t think I could actually own property in the Bahamas. He said he has an American friend who did just what I want to do. He gave me his info to get details on how it works. Day one has been successful.
