Already learned something about my next island

I’m not even there yet and research is happening. I purchase my one way ticket, as I do not know where I’m going or when I’m leaving.

When i booked my flight my choices were limited. I actually saved $800 by flying right over the Bahamas all the way up to New Jersey, which created an 11 hour layover. This means I miss out on one night stay in the Bahamas and I either sleep on the floor for 11 hours or get a hotel.

They made me collect my checked bag so I had to get a hotel, which was best anyway

I return in the morning and the attendant tells me the Bahamas government wants to know when I’m leaving. I think, they don’t even know me yet and they’re asking me to leave? But I’m so much fun! He says I cannot check in for this flight without a return fight

I get online and book a ticket…but where am I going? Where can I go? This takes planning and I really don’t have the time to plan and book. So I just picked miami, hoping I can change it later. since Covid, airlines have been pretty lenient in changes.

The day my hotel reservation ends, there are no flights out of Nassau with United. (The originating airline) however, I can fly out from another island in the Bahamas which will require another flight from Nassau. But this island has the pink sandy beaches that I must see.

I book the flight and return to a different attendant. Who simply asked when I plan on leaving Bahamas. She entered the date with no proof that i actually had a flight.

Well! Getting ready to leave New Jersey for the Bahamas. Yay!
