When nothing goes right…laugh

My dilemma is, I can’t figure out which brand the soft top on my Jeep is. I bought one from a nice gentleman at a 4×4 shop near me, but it didn’t fit. So I destroyed the box trying to put the top back in. The nice guy still took the return.

I don’t want to have to buy a whole new frame AND top as, #1 all of my tools are in storage in California and #2 I have no way of disposing for the old frame. So I’m frantically trying to research different tops to see if I can find the one I had. Rain is coming and the pressure is on. I decide, I just need to get a car cover to protect it from today’s storm coming in. So I go to autozone, they don’t have my size, they say try Walmart, they don’t have my size, but I’m running out of time so I buy the biggest one they have so I can improvise. I get back to the marina, take it out of the box and it’s cloth! I read the fine print, it protects from dust and leaves! WTF? I go back to Walmart, they have nothing for rain. I buy a tarp and Bungee cords. Race back cover it up.

I go out in the morning and the bungee cords had stretched allowing the water to make a pool in the tarp. The weight of the water pulled the tarp off of the front. So front seats, floor boards completely drenched. Take that apart and vacuum the water out. Decide I’m going to have to buy a frame and top, maybe the shop will loan me tools and will have a dumpster for old frame. I go back to the 4×4 place, explain my dilemma, hoping the guy would offer tools and disposal. I didn’t get the same guy. This one just blankly stared at me and then asked. So do you want a frame and a top or just a top? Well. Ya jerk, I want just a top. If you could help me figure out the brand, if you can’t I need the frame too and I don’t have tools or disposal place. He just stared at me! So I decided not to give them my business, except I noticed they had actual Jeep covers for rain. So I bought that. It’s so heavy duty it’s not something you take on and off everyday. So I’ll be walking! Ha ha
