Next Stop Hilton Head

The seas have been rough, so we’ve been staying on the ICW, which is beautiful with calm waters and a lot to see along the river. However, as I’m navigating our path, my App has caution areas. This path at low tide can have only 2 feet of water at times.

Very nerve wracking and stressful. We had 2 boats following us the whole way. Davar radioed them giving them permission to pass at anytime, as we were coasting through the shallow areas. They replied no thanks captain, you appear to have knowledge of the area. So we’ll follow you. Davar and I laughed because we’d never been here before.

They are actually going to the same marina as us so when we pull in to fuel up, davar told them we were not your knowledge base, we were your guinea pigs!

What I love about this place, is that our boat backs right up to the most popular restaurant at this resort. We can sit on the back lounge area and meet people as they walk by. We had our neighbors over for a glass of wine. We had about 6 guys that invited me to go golfing with them tomorrow. Such a fun fun night!

This marina gives you a bottle of wine and a welcome packet when you check in. The wine is from Paso Robles and says it is made for Sea Pines Resort. I wonder what their affiliation with Sea Pines is?

  1. well, you can’t get away from “home”. paso wine. who’da thunk it? sorry to have missed your visit but we’ve been overwhelmed with stuff surrounding my step-son, gregg’s health. he’s in a great place right now recuperating from his 10 week hospital hell, but we’ve suddenly been thrown into the mix of his care. long, boring story. we so enjoy “going along” with you and your posts take our minds off the reality. please know how much we DO look forward to your posts. hugs, rob and constance
