…and something exciting happened

My final week of being alone on the boat was to be spent in Jarret Bay, Beaufort, NC. The boat would get some maintenance and warranty work. It turns out, it will be hauled out of the water, and there are no restaurants near.

So my boss texts me and said, this is a good time for you to take a week off. Let me know where ya wanna go and I’ll get your ticket. Oh my gosh. I have a plane ticket to wherever I wanna go…and I choose Atascadero California. People are like, wait Tahiti? Or Greece? Or…anything but podunk Atascabama!

But my family is there. I haven’t seen my mommy in over 5 months, my youngest in 7 months and my two other girls since Mexico in July….and my friends since March 2020! My brother…! So yes Atascadero is where I’m headed.

I am beyond excited…like beyond. As I packed today I thought about my schedule and appropriate clothing. I have some clothes here. Some in Florida and some in storage at home. It was the oddest feeling to be packing for a week at home, knowing I’m not staying. I can’t wait to see everyone and simply drive down the Main Street of my town. The street I learned how to drive on. I’ve lived there all of my life. OMGOSH! I start my trek back home tomorrow!
