…and goodbye

My last day here, changed a few times from last weekend to this Friday..to Sunday. Sounded pretty for sure Sunday. Capt billy would come aboard Saturday night, enjoy my going away shindig and we’d head out early Sunday morning.

As I prepare the food for my going away party, captain billy arrives. I welcome he and his wife Paula. Captain Billy says I’d like to leave now. I pause…cause I have a pie in the oven and one guest already here. But I regroup and say ok…I haven’t prepared the boat for this, we need fresh water, engine oil check, generator oil check. He could tell this was not my happy place and said “Stace, we can leave tomorrow, let’s just undock, go get fuel and then we can come back” that sounded ridiculous to me. If we are leaving now to fuel why come back? Why can’t we get fuel in the morning? Because I want to get going. My first thought was…I’ve been waiting on you to get going for 10 days. You finally give me a set day and now we have to leave one day before?

Treated myself to a wonderful champagne lunch

Captain Tim was kind enough to help with the shit show. He helps with lines. We rush to fuel station..it’s closed. We go back to the dock. I start filling fresh water. It gets half way full and he says let’s go. I’m like…ok I don’t have to shower in the morning! Ha ha.

Goodbye Sag Harbor

So I asked Captain Tim to please tell everyone goodbye for me. I was so sad. But aside from the dock people, I will see the yacht people in this small world we live in
