What a great weekend

My boss tells me…”I’m going to the city (NY) and my daughter and her husband are chartering the boat for the weekend. I ask (ummm whose the captain?) our neighbor Billy is going to Captain.

So we head to one of my favorite towns. Watch Hill RI. Captain Billy and I have great conversation on our way there. He compliments my work ethic and adds to the list of people who say I work too hard. (He captains the boat next door to us, so he sees me everyday) We get there and my bosses son in law says thanks for getting us here. You guys go enjoy yourselves. I rinse and dry the boat. Captain Billy wants to help, then he takes me to dinner. I come back and enjoy the boat and go to bed. The next morning I dry the boat, the “kids” offer to bring back a muffin or pastry and can’t thank me enough for this wonderful weekend they are having. Captain Billy says you don’t need to thank us…your just happy to be here without your kids! My boss texts me and says get off that boat and go to the beach. So I do! Then I enjoy another dinner with Cap and a fun evening visiting with the “kids”. Such a relaxing weekend where I felt I went to work and I was done. Rather than just never stopping and working all day. We get back to Sag Harbor and the son in law gives me a $200 tip! No way! I barely worked and i didn’t serve them or do anything for them!

I rinse and dry the boat and have a glass of wine with my boss and his friends. These kids are early 20’s and one of them says “man Stacy I love you, you are the coolest chick”. My boss looks at me and says why does everyone like you so much? Captain Billy raved about you, my kids raved about you, every guest I have on board says they want to come back to hang out with you not me! Then to finish off the perfect night CBC Joey and a dock hand come onboard and we drink and laugh and have so much fun!
