Think it’s gonna be easy, out of the routine, fun, different. The boat needs its service so we are taking her to a service marina. Davar and I laugh as we try to undock leaving some lines and taking some. With this type of dock he has to move the front of the boat close to the Pylon on the left so I can grab that line. Then he maneuvers close to the right so I can grab that one.
I suggested untying lines in the back to give us more maneuverability, he smiled and said Eh…let’s see what this does. He got me about 5 feet away from the pylon, I’m jokingly reaching like I almost am touching it and he yells, ya got it? The captain on the yacht next to us was dying laughing at how silly we were being. I untied him and set him free…a first for us, as I had to take the grocery getter (brand new BMW) to the marina so he’d have a car. On my way, I’m to get a few things at the hardware store so I can keep busy while the mechanics are doing their job. And this is where the fun begins. We are in marina-land, no cell service, sucky WiFi, and mom and pop stores. There are two hardware stores on my way, neither have the part I’m looking for. My boss had been at the marina 15 minutes already so I’m rushed. I get there, he leaves. We are only having repairs so generator is running instead of hooking up to shore power “cause we won’t be here long”. The boys are in the engine room, the generator shuts off. So I’m doing what I can without running water or power until I can get in the engine room to troubleshoot generator. The boys leave for an hour lunch break. I get my tools out and open up the strainer to the generator. It’s full of long grass. So there’s my problem. My boss says, this is going to take longer than expected, I’ll just leave you there and come back and get you tomorrow before storm Isaiah gets here. I quickly fix that and restart the generator. The boys come back and it shuts off, so I google(with no cell service) and problem solve. I try everything. The boys are done changing the oil and I mention the generator issue. He does what he can, and can’t figure it out. So I’m staying the night, we hook me to shore power, all is good. Except I haven’t eaten all day and it’s 4:30. The marina restaurant we are at closed down for COVID. The harbor master says about 1.5 miles down the road there is a bistro. I google. They open at 5. I shower, makeup, get dressed. Walk the 1.5 miles to find out they’re Also closed. On my walk back to the boat I’m thinking there better be a bottle of wine open. I have leftovers for dinner ( don’t feel too bad…it was lobster)

I notice that the oil drips I asked the mechanics to clean up had not been cleaned up. Davar will have a conniption fit. The harbor master says we’ll make it good tomorrow. I go inside to get more wine and I notice it’s hot inside. The A/C isn’t working. I have no power. Now I’m troubleshooting why my boat tells me I have shore power but nothing will come on. Has to be a breaker. Check all main breakers I’m aware of. Nothing comes on, check every breaker, nothing. Turn on generator, no power. There is a breaker somewhere I’m missing. Oh well. Another glass of wine and tomorrow is a new day

I sure hope your blood pressure is good! Too much stress for you. How in the world did you sleep without air conditioning? Never a dull moment!

I slept under the stars! No stress at all…my hair was lovely this morning with the wetness in the air all night and the hurricane winds!
