The next step in my search for my Island, will require me getting my Captains license. Today YB had me Pilot the vessel as usual, but when it was time to pull up to the fuel dock he did NOT take over. OMGOSH. There was a pylon 20ft behind me, 3 feet of water somewhere to my port side, boats cruising by in the channel and the fuel gal patiently waiting on me to figure out how to maneuver GIGI sideways to the dock.

I live a very scheduled life. At my dental office, a patient waiting in the waiting room was a rarity. They used to complain they wouldn’t have enough time to read a magazine before their scheduled time.
If I had plans to go somewhere I’m always early. This job was very challenging for me in for that reason.

My first wash down took me 6 hours when it usually takes 4.5. But there was a lot that has been left undone so it was a bit more work.
My boss who I’ll call YB (yacht boss) just got back to miami today, and the chaos has already begun. I’m on schedule to depart Saturday. He texts me today and says we are leaving Friday now! So Ofcourse tomorrow will be panic mode to prepare for earlier departure.

I’ve just been taking inventory getting GiGi ready for our June 3 departure. It’s obvious that no one maintained her like I like, while I was gone. But she also gets used ALOT and is bound to have some dings and scratches here and there.

Thoroughly enjoyed Anna Maria. Being there mid week, I didn’t get to see my peeps cause they all have normal jobs. The beach was beautiful and the water warm

Headed to Miami, passing through Ft Myers. So sad for all of these people. So many trailers next to where homes once were.

Made it back to GiGi. Wonderful to see my friends from this marina. Took the boat out for a sea trial today. Everything checked out. Rylee got to go for a swim in warm clear water in the deep end of the ocean. Ha ha

Nice relaxing day before chaos Ensues
Yacht boss can be so sweet and yet so micro managing. He’s having the boat washed and detailed for me so I don’t have a lot of catching up to do. then he texts me today and says order some uniforms for you with boat logo. Have them shipped to the boat. We leave in 9 days. I’m like uniforms. He’s never liked uniforms???

Since our 9 hour driving days are over we’ve been feeling like we’re finally on vacation. Last time, we swam in the fresh water springs where manatees live and we wanted to do that again.

It’s kinda hard to dream about the Caribbean when we have this right here
I should be in Miami by Wednesday, which gives me a week to get the boat ready to go for our trip to New York. My boss keeps texting me…Gigi will be washed and polished on Tuesday, the mechanic is coming on Wednesday…I’m like…what am I supposed to do when I get there? He says “buy new sheets, we used your room for storage while you were gone. I bought a new comforter, you just get the sheets you want. Credit card is in my bedroom drawer”

Our last 9 hour drive day! We stopped at St. Pierre hotel in the French quarter. After walking around, I liked my hotel last time better and there were many others that are more updated. But..it was clean and the staff friendly.
