Boss wanted to head out early again. Seemed a bit short that I wasn’t up earlier and ready. My thoughts…I’ll get up as early as I need…just let me know the plan…we head out I do my usual. Seas are calm and we have an all Dayer ahead of us, so I start polishing chrome. He tells me to go rest because we’ll stop for lunch at noon and you’re at the helm after that. I’m thinking I am not a napper, how am I going to change my lifestyle to learn these new hours? But I go sit on the back of the boat where the noise and ticking motion have proven to help me nap. Like 30 seconds later..,ok 2 hours later he wakes me up and says your turn. I set my coordinates and am flying free…then the weather started getting rough, my tiny ship was tossed…did anyone start singing giligans island? Ha ha. Boss was napping so I put my boating skills to work. I’m on the top deck getting splashed

Days like this, make the long days and hard work all worth it. Woke up earlier because he wanted to “hit the road earlier” he had already done some of my chores. We undock, and head out. I’m inside cleaning because the seas are calm and maneuvering around is easy. He comes down and tells me, stop what you’re doing and get out here. I go upstairs and see the beautiful sunrise and rainbow.

Laughing with the locals

I had to laugh last night. I was up at 6am as usual and finished with everything about 4. I ran into Davar on the dock and told him I was done. He said go enjoy your evening… I’ve got the boat. So I went back to the restaurant I was at last night, but I sat inside this time because it looked like rain. Then I thought…everything he’s taught me is VERY important. Like it’s VERY important to dry the dew off before the sun comes out in the morning to avoid water spots. It’s VERY important to dry the windows after it rains, to avoid water spots.

Started at 6am. It’s already hot, sun isn’t up yet and as I dry the yacht I wave to all of the fisherman heading out for the day. It’s so peaceful and quiet this morning. We are usually at hoppin marinas with restaurants and stores and music and commotion. There wasn’t any room at the marina he wanted to go to so we are staying across the way. Very quiet. We have no guests so the interior chores this morning were much easier. Right now we have a tv celebrity on board whom I thought would be VERY high maintenance as I’ve seen the show she is on. However she takes care of what she needs and is very polite. We are cruising the river to where he wants to stay and now I see why

This place is an island. Tons of people. He was so sad he couldn’t bring me here to show this to me. I guess on our way back it will be too cold.
Too tired to post

We are in Charleston. Labor intense day. Took a break for a meal at the marina bar. Met this guy from Chino Ca! And went to bed!
Long but fun day
Our guest leaves tomorrow. She is a high dollar clothing designer. As I’m helping her pack, she genuinely says I love you so much, I want to give you this. It’s a beautiful…beautiful dress that I could never afford nor have anywhere fancy enough to wear it. She says my love you will wear it! I yelled upstairs to my boss and said DAVAR! You are taking me to dinner somewhere I can where this dress! He laughed and shook his head…you may be the most expensive deckhand I’ve ever had! It was supposed to rain today, so I saved my indoor chores for later in the day. Finished exterior then went shopping for provisions. Came back and they were already a couple of glasses of wine in. I started on my interior chores. She (the guest) says I’m leaving tomorrow have a glass of champagne with me! I told her you dont have to ask me twice. So as I worked, we drank, and my boss kept finding more for me to do. Finally I said “I’ve been on my feet for 11 hours…you need to get off my boat” he laughed, looked at her and said “I’m a bit scared, maybe we should go”

So here I sit, after dinner watching the sunset and all of the boats coming back from a fun day at sea, enjoying my quiet time. Tomorrow is a long day. The longest at sea we’ve had yet. It’s supposed to be calmer than yesterday. Thank goodness. Cheers to all living their dream!
Yachtie Life Day 10

In beautiful Charleston South Carolina. On our way here the seas were rough. I get sea sick and have learned that I have to be outside with fresh air on days like this. So I sat at the back lounge area. A storm comes in, but I’m covered by the upstairs awning, yet still getting wet. I do not mind because it’s not cold. My boss texts me and says come in, get the rain jacket for docking, we are almost there. I walked up to his drivers side window. He looked at me soaked wet and busted up laughing, honked the horn and said no rain jacket needed!

Ha ha. Seriously can’t keep track. My boss told me at 3:00…you’re done go enjoy your day and evening. Took an Uber to get my toes done. They were in need of not only paint but a good massage. Oh man. I think I may have drooled. South Carolina looks the same as it did in November even though I’m 3 hours away. So I stayed at the resort which had everything one could imagine. Shopping, restaurants, pool, bars. I met so many wonderful people today. I met a lady 10 years older than me who is a chef on a yacht. She’s been doing it for 3 years and loves it. Met another couple. We exchanged stories. They said we wanna come visit your bar. So I gave them my blog site. We laughed because we likely will meet up there in a few years. I relaxed at the pool for 3 hours after toes. But it wasn’t so relaxing because there was a little girl named Jenna in the pool every time someone called her name, I looked up to see what she was doing. (For those of you that don’t know my oldest daughter, whom I’ve told y’all about is Jenna) I walked from the pool through the condos to my quaint little bar I was at last night. Right before the singer was going to recognize me and sing green eyed girl…

Working in dentistry. When I’d hire new girls who had years of experience and they would get frustrated because even though they knew dentistry well, things are still done so differently in each office it can leave you feeling inadequate. Some days I feel like that with my new job. My boss showed me the first day how he likes things done. So I pay attention and repeat exactly what he taught me. But there are factors that can change what I do.

More beautiful architecture along River Street. Cobblestone everywhere. Southern Hospitality is a real thing. Earlier I was shopping for yacht provisions and everyone takes the time to say hi, or have a nice day. A little boy and I crossed path’s, he looks in my eyes and says hello mam. A lady sitting in the park, interrupted her phone conversation to ask how my day was. So much respect. Had my one meal for the day, tired but I want to accomplish a bit of interior work this evening so I came back and changed into work clothes. I came out and the pool party my boss was at, is now on our boat! A bunch of 23 year old blondes. Ha Ha. I say Im going inside to do some work he tries to convince me to have some fun. But I’m tired and want to relax. We are at sea tomorrow and those days are alotta work. So hopefully they’re done soon..if not there’s always tomorrow!
