We left Naples Thursday about 8:30pm. We brought an experienced Captain with us, as our current Captain has not navigated these waters on his own yet. Between the 2 Captains, the first mate and I, we rotated shifts driving. Took us 36 hours to get to Harbor Island. I was mentally exhausted upon arrival, then was physically exhausted after rinsing the yacht and washing the tender.
We cheers’d to a safe passage and began getting the boat ready for owner arrival in 3 days.
The Island is beautiful. It’s people are genuinely happy and concerned for other peoples happiness. You do not pass buy a local anywhere without a “good mornin” or “hello mam”.
There is live music, fun bars and yummy food. Conch Salad is made fresh in front of you by Queen Conch. It is worth the wait!

We went and enjoyed pink sand beach, and the beautiful tropical waters. I was in heaven that day. The owners arrived and our routine has begun. It’s so low key, I can’t believe it’s real. I could just retire here! HA HA.
We were able to take the owners out for some snorkeling and swimming with the turtles, but the wind is supposed to get pretty bad these next few days, so we won’t be going out on the water. Because of the wind, the owners have decided to cut their trip short and will be leaving day after tomorrow. Which means the crew will have about 5 days to enjoy the Island on our own schedule.
Princess, is a make of yacht, and they are having their huge annual event here. Activities planned daily, so now we will have time to partake in those activities. My friends from Sag Harbor are on a princess and will be here, so I’ll be able to enjoy that with them!
So far I like the vibe here. It is on the radar for my bar!
Sounds like you earned that vaca/retirement just taking care of the boat. Safe travels my dear. As always love you 🥰
