Back to my roots

The view from my front porch

My part of California, allowed me to enjoy the triple digit mid day summers, which I could escape with a 20 minute drive to the coast. Or a 20 minute drive to our local lake Nacimiento, where people routinely drive 2+ hours to get to. Winters that made you appreciate spring, with a 3 hour drive to the nearest ski slope.

When I go on Caribbean cruises, my soul feels at home. So leaving my adventure, to come home, I couldn’t imagine not having that feeling again. Turns out, I like wilderness too! I’m surrounded by mountains and trees, without an ounce of water in site!

As I sit in my new “housing” not much bigger than some of the crew houses I stayed in, in Florida, I feel comfort in simple things. I’m drinking out of “my” coffee cup, I’m sleeping on my pillow in my bed, AND my siblings, daughters and parents are a 5-20 minute drive away.

Looking forward to reconnecting with friends at Nacimiento and beyond!
