Generation Gap

This is a learning experience for me only. I do not intend on this being my career. When I set out to have a bar on a white sandy beach, the bar won’t ultimately be what supports my dream. The 5 villas behind the bar and the sea-do rentals..along with the bar, will support the dream.

I want my bar to be where the locals come, where the villa renters come for mimosas or coffee in the morning, to talk about their adventures from yesterday and their plans for today. Then, if they want to transition into beer or drinks in the afternoon, maybe have a tri trip sandwich, tri tip tacos or tri tip salad…perfect

The evening vibe will be drinks and plenty, dancing on the bar..until WE are all done for the day.

I won’t have a staff of young’ns who float around to look busy. The manager warned me of these creatures. Today was my first experience with those creatures.

Being new, I need direction on closing/cleaning up. But if I walk by a full trash can…I’m quite certain it needs to be emptied. So I empty two huge trash cans, then confirm with the manager I’m correct. Later the creature says to me “why you all gotta be so independent, I mean ask for help yo…you takin out the trash and I’m sweapin to look busy that ain’t right”

I laughed it off because he’s been here for 2 years. He “knows” what should be done. So later in the clean up hour, I saw a full trash can in the bar area. I walked by him and said, “there’s a full can in the bar if ya wanna take that out”. He got right on it, and is a sweet kid. But he will stand around and avoid people so they don’t know he’s standing around.

So all you people who said you were gonna come work for me. Dr. Casper, Sandy Casper, Leslie Borges, Mitsi Davis, Scott Rigdon, I know I’m forgetting a ton, THERE WILL BE NO FLOATING! Or..plenty of floating when the job is done? Ha ha

Then my yacht boss keeps texting, to stay in touch. He sends the Funniest stuff. I told him I’m working long hours. Running in the sand, no food. He says “you got this, you’re tough as nails”
