Remember when I was on GiGi for repairs in that sketchy part of Ft. Lauderdale? When you arrive by boat, your bearings are off. As far as I knew, I was in the boondocks with absolutely nothing around. Plus walking and exploring did not feel safe. So my best bet was delivery.
That night, I had the best Italian food..well..maybe ever! But I couldn’t find it again, once I returned to miami.
It turns out, the hotel I chose tonight is right next door to that there favorite Italian restaurant.
I sit at the bar. Cause that’s what single people do. I meet a guy (American) who lives on Grand Cayman. One of my favorite destinations. It’s like San Luis Obispo on the white sandy beach with clear warm ocean water.
He informs me, the Cayman Islands are not affected by hurricanes because they are too far south. I told him what I’m looking for, and he recommended an island to research. Very jungly, gets tourists but not city.
Side note: hurricanes don’t shut it down but Covid definitely did. This guy left the island in June 2020 because it was deserted. No tourism. The businesses sent all workers home. There are no restaurants open..no one to talk to, so he left and is waiting to return. However..that may be my next stop! After Covid goes away Ofcourse
