When one door closes 5 more open

The dock guys all know I’m leaving and they all come back each day with new information. One guy gave me a magazine that lists all the marinas and names of the dock guys that work there. He also told me I MUST stay at the Island View guest house. Ironically, that is where I’m booked. He confirmed the honor bar and said it’s the same in the room. There’s a chalk board that you write down what you consume and they add it to your bill

He also said they cook Friday- through Sunday out by the pool, and the food is amazing! So excited. Another crew member on a yacht said, if things work out and I stay and don’t want to pay to store the Jeep he’ll buy it from me.

Then I have new neighbors that moved in yesterday. A married couple in their early 40’s. The wife had a ton of questions for me as this is their first boat and they know nothing. I explained I gave my 2 weeks notice so I’ll only get to be their neighbor until Wednesday.

I think she is impressed with how I keep GiGi so she had her husband stop by to ask what my plans are. He took my info in case things don’t happen quick enough on the island and I need to work in yachting again (until Covid restrictions loosen up) They may want to hire me. Their boat is a little smaller than GiGi so I could captain for them as well.

Tomorrow we are going on a 2 day outing with the guest from Bald Head Island that didn’t last on the boat more than 6 hours. We’ll see how it goes this time! Ha ha
