My boss hasn’t lived on the boat full time in 6 months. He’s not supposed to move back in for another 3 1/2 months. He brought one of our original guests, who moves in like she just lost her apartment and has nowhere to store anything. I love her…but, when your coming for a day…bring a bathing suit and toiletries. Not your toaster, fur coat, library, cat, and your whole dress/shoe closet. It took 2 trips from her car to the boat and her car was still full.
They stay on the boat for 48 hours. I can’t watch tv in the main salon after my workday, I can’t rummage through the galley when I’m hungry. I forgot what “crew life” is like. I can’t maintain the boat according to my schedule. I am now on his schedule, and being told what to do. Im like “dude, I had a plan, you messed it up” then I remember, it’s, his boat, his vacation, I’m paid to roll with HIS flow. Am I ready for another season of crew life?

Ofcourse I am! I have to re-read my blog to know that I can do it, but I think I can.
On a happier note…a few days ago we had a guest who had been on the boat before, and invited me upstairs to join them. Ofcourse that inspires my boss to tell funny stories of our adventures. We get to the island Bar I must have, and my boss realizes he kinda shut the idea down in fear of losing me…but I quote…”eventually, I have to not be selfish and do what’s right for her” end quote. Yes those very words came out. So..fingers crossed, the developer in the Bahamas checks in with my boss soon and inquires on the potential bar owner.
