Coulda been bad

My boss is a perfectionist…he’s learned that I am as well. I like my boat to look a certain way. I guess I scare him a bit. He opened up a bottle of red wine on the way home from a beautiful day

I’m preparing to dock. Fenders put away…lines arranged neatly on cleats. When I’m putting the fenders away I’m on the very front of the bow. That’s where the compartment is for fenders. I’m bent over lowering fenders into compartment. All of a sudden I hear oh shit and the boat goes into reverse. It was done smoothly, so it didn’t throw me to the floor..just threw me off balance and made me stop and look because obviously something happened. I look forward and we are about 6ft away from bumping into an anchored boat. We don’t hit it and continue on our path

I finish putting fenders away…and stand on the lower deck so that the captain knows I’m there and readily available for whatever he needs. He looks down at me and says hello dear, how are you? I think that’s weird for him to say after what just happened…but whatever. He says we had a slight emergency up here but it’s all under control now…we are good. I find out later..someone spilled the red wine, my boss panicked and said OMG…if Stacy sees this, we are in so much trouble. He sent our guests into panic mode. Running downstairs to get water and paper towels. They were frantically cleaning up the mess as we coasted, no one noticed the boat in front of us. Because they were afraid of what would happen if they didn’t get it cleaned up. I didn’t get this story till we were safely docked. I wash the boat tomorrow and haven’t even gone upstairs to look. But I can’t be too mad…I did the same thing a few nights ago
